To put it simply I am a huge fan of radio, the way it is able to connect so personally whether it is all about music or hearing people’s stories it’s what I am passionate about. Most of my musical influences I first heard on the radio such as the Beastie Boys, Blood Orange, Vulfpeck, Boy Genius and Snoh Aalegra. But I take listening to music pretty seriously and try to get as wide of range as possible.

Hailing from the back end of UKG era and the birth of grime in east London, Ricky began his journey at the age of 15 in the youth clubs of east London. His passion for underground music derived from collecting tape packs & CDs from the hottest parties of the era and hauling bags of music to a wide number of London-based Pirate Radio stations and secret warehouse parties.
Making his mark in the underground house scene, Ricky is out week after week, hyping up dance floors and cementing his unique style of deep, dubby house cuts in venues across the capital. Heading up his own imprint and party, Sub:Conscious Records. Ricky takes a hands on approach to the brand and his craft, either through A&R'ing new music, live streaming or hosting his revered label parties with special guests from across Europe, the brand has become an entity and community in its own right through its 5 year history.
Drawing influences from his eclectic armoury of music, including UKG, Jungle, Dub Reggae, Soul and Jazz; his love for Skippy percussion, melodic harmonies and groovy subs are evident in all of his sets. You will often hear Ricky breaking out of the confines of a standard house set, regularly exploring new sounds and samples to leave you constantly guessing what’s coming next. Genre bucketing and sticking to the norm is never on the cards with Ricky!
Never a stranger to a warm-up, peak or closing set, Ricky’s in-depth stage experience and love for the art of DJing coupled with his vast record collection across multiple sub-genres of House, allows him to find a groove, build, and maintain it - wherever and whenever he performs.
With single track and EP releases looming this summer, 2021 is quickly shaping up to be his biggest year yet.

Use this space to write a brief description of what this team member does. You can include relevant degrees, experience or other special qualifications they may have.
"I'm an open format dj who loves doing live mashups in my sets, also a bit of turntable junkie.
My playing style is hugely influenced by my Carribean background and also my time growing up in East London listening to Dance Hall music, Old school Garage and Grime.
Spent the last couple years working across Shoreditch and the West End where I held residences.
I see myself as a little technical and love using and learning about new dj tech. If I was to be described in one word it would unorthodox."
