Michael had always been passionate about music. Growing up in London, he was exposed to a wide variety of genres and styles, and he quickly found that his heart belonged to the beats and rhythms of house, tech house, and garage.
But it wasn’t until lockdown hit that Michael truly discovered his calling as a DJ. With nothing else to do and plenty of time on his hands, Michael decided to take some online DJing classes to pass the time. It was there that he met Ellie Cocks, a resident DJ at one of London’s most popular nightclubs.
Ellie took Michael under her wing and taught him everything she knew about mixing, beatmatching, and programming a set. Michael was a quick learner, and before long he felt confident enough to start playing at virtual parties and online events.
Finally, before Christmas, Michael got his big break. He was offered his first ever gig at Brixton Jam, one of London’s most iconic music venues. He was thrilled and couldn’t wait to take the stage and show off his skills.
